First run in the "tintent" 2018 - Daisy Bank Caravan site, Powys, Wales

Why go there?

Peace and quiet, beautiful views, friendly staff and campers, adults only (no kids in sight or ear shot), fully serviced pitches most with hard standing, great toilets and showers, bring your dog if you want! What else? Near to some good towns and plenty of walking if that's your thing. Finally, fairly priced, and well appointed facilities and if the sun's out it's a sun trap! Very relaxing... Why not the fifth star? Not sure as yet, but, will update in due course...

Daisy Bank is set in 7 acres of beautiful countryside between Bishops Castle, Shropshire and Welshpool in Wales. It is a very friendly, family run, adult only caravan park and camping site offering award winning, 5-star facilities with superb views. Ideal for walking the Shropshire Hills, exploring ancient castles and ‘March’ towns in mid Wales, or just relaxing around the park.

If you check out "whats to do in the locale" on the internet on your phone/tablet via the free WiFi I am sure you will find something locally to visit and enjoy?

When we visited, as you can see below, we attended a beer festival in Bishops Castle with live music and a few beers! Montgomery where they had a street Market and live music. Both of those were on ONE day!

Other things we saw was the annual Soapbox Derby near Ludlow. Thirty mins away from the site approx, it had vintage tractors, live music, classic cars, lawnmower racing, grass track racing and the soap box racing. The whole event was a truly remarkable spectacle all organised to entertain and raise money for local charities. It was a superb day and one to watch out for next year.

The nicest town we visited of any distance from the site was Newtown where we picnicked by the river and ambled around the shops. Excellent parking and toilet facilities and if you are infirm or disabled you are well catered for!

Would we go back?

Yes! We did! Twice more!! We will also be meeting friends later in the year on the site as it just so convenient, picturesque and in an area with lots to see and do...

Highlight of the visit(s)?

Undoubtedly the Soap box Derby but an extremely close second was Bunners Ironmongery store in Montgomery. If you do nothing else go there even if only to see the place!! Talk about an Aladdin's cave, it was superb, with so many floors and so much stock and it looks like its straight out of a museum. I swear they have Arkwright's till out of open all hours!!
