Lincomb Lock Caravan Park - Stourport on Severn

So... we wanted a quick break following me being off work for over two weeks with a chest infection. It had broken into my holiday week we had booked off and we both wanted to get away just somewhere near but peaceful. Quick search on Pitchup.com and we had three nights just 40 mins down the road from where we live! It's funny, we all say it, but, it's amazing what you find just in your local neighbourhood and when you are away from the distraction of jobs to complete in the home you can really relax...

For years as a kid and then in my mid twenties, we used to go to Stourport just for the permanent fun fair at the end of the town straddling the river and canal basin but, we seldom had a good walk around because of so many constraints, usually time, but, now with time to kill in abundance we found lovely country walks/towpaths to explore and lots of places to inspect and checkout!

The site itself is a lovely little place with predominantly static vans, but, dont let that put you off! It has 16no. pitches for tourers and the layout of the site is in a beautifully kept valley just a short walk from the River Severn. It's an adult site and its very peaceful. Electric on every hardstanding pitch with room for an awning on grass beside your caravan. They accept folding campers but no tents.

Water is from a tap nearby which you can run direct, by hose, to your van, but, waste sadly is about 40 metres away by the toilets. Toilets... were superb, but when you are dragging a waste bucket up a hill it does grind a bit! If you struggle up hills, empty your waste water and your toilet daily, or sooner, don't wait for it to fill up!!

This is definitely a quiet, peaceful, pretty, and friendly site. It's hard to believe you are quite close to towns as it's smack bang in the countryside on the banks of the Severn.

A short walk down the road to the local sailing club and you can eat drink and be merry if you wish. There is no need to be a member they gladly welcome you we were told, but, we didn't need to partake for this short stay so I cannot advise to the quality etc!

So, in summary: Reasonably priced with good amenities for caravanning, waste is a pain if you are a little unfit or like me infirm, will we go back? Definitely!!
