Had a few days away after Easter to Cartref Campsite near Shrewsbury. It's been six years since we last visited this little site and I must say, a change of ownership and some hardwork has really paid off, this site is a gem!
Fully serviced pitches and site wide WiFi are available (£5.00 three days). TV reception is excellent if you want it, toilets and showers have just been awarded 2017 Loo's of the year.
Situated in rolling farmland five miles from Shrewsbury there is plenty to do if you look for it. Further afield is a cracking market at Oswestry and another at Craven arms. Around the site is quiet and would suit couples of an age wanting peace and tranquility for which you can use the small adults field pictured below. If you have children then use the main field and they can play in a field adjacent with a footie pitch and some swings etc. There is a dog walk for those who bring a pet along.
The site prides itself on its upkeep and recycling, it has solar panels on the toilet roof, recycling everything in marked dustbins.
Cost for two people, caravan and fully serviced pitch was £50 for two nights.
Verdict? Go and try it and enjoy. We are back in June!
